new tv

New TV
The Author of this post is Cheryl Martinez
For Christmas last year, my husband and I decided to get a new TV for ourselves. I had no problem with the TV we had, but my husband insisted that we needed a flat screen HD TV. I did not realize it, but apparently when we got satellite TV from http://www.directstartv.com/, we got a lot of HD channels. My husband said that we were not taking advantage of all of our HD channels because we did not have an HD television. It did not take us long to find the TV we wanted in the store because my husband had done a lot of research before we went and already knew which TV he wanted. After we purchased the TV, we headed home and my husband immediately hooked it up. I was amazed at the difference in picture quality and told my husband that I was really glad we decided to make such a big purchase for ourselves. My husband has big plans for our TV during football season. He plans to have his entire fantasy football league over to watch a few games and I am sure that he will want to have a Super Bowl party as well.

Second child

Thanks to Olga Quinn
My wife and I recently had our second child, and it has been a major adjustment. It has not been as big of an adjustment as going from no kids to one kid, but it has been pretty close. Our daughter slept through the night very early on, and from the beginning was a very pleasant baby. Our son, on the other hand, has been a very difficult baby from the moment he got here. Along with dealing with the lack of sleep, we have been trying to juggle in increased expenses that come with another mouth to feed. We recently switched to fixed-rate energy through www.texaselectricityproviders.com. We also refinanced our house in order to get the low interest rate that is currently available. In the long run my wife and I know everything will be fine, but these last few weeks have been very stressful. Raising children is hard work. My parents had four kids, as did my wife’s parents, and we both do not know how we are going to manage with only two. It gives me a whole new level of respect for the parents of big families.

Books are your friend.

I am a big reader. I love books and would even love to work in a library one day, I'm currently working toward this goal. I love books about vampires and werewolves. I also love books about witches and drugs. I currently own all the Twlight books and a few of the House of Night series. As a a kid I loved Goosebumps and Fear Street.
I'm always looking for book sales. I love getting books at a good price. I would love to go out a buy a new book when it comes out, but my money situation is the best right now. Finding books on sale is a big deal for me.
I'm really hoping my love of books rubs off on my daughter. I love reading to her. She loves the pretty pictures of mostly cats right now. I try to read a book to her everyday. It's so cute seeing her try to read them, she is only  2.
I wish the whole world had a love of books. I would love to spark a love for reading in every young child in the world. Maybe one day I'll do that.

Needed It

I appreciate the guest post, Jewel Rodgers
There aren’t many things that I ask for as gifts but I knew when I retired last year I really wanted satellite fromexpertsatellite.com because I planned on watching a whole heck of a lot of sports. I know it sounds silly but there aren’t many things that give me as much pleasure in life as sitting down in front of a TV on the weekend and watching some guys throw that pigskin around! My wife was sweet enough to listen to the request and of course got me just the package I wanted so this is already shaping up to be the best retirement ever. I love how well she listens to me and how much she wants to please me and this is just another example of how many times she thinks about me on a daily basis! I sure hit the jackpot when I found Shirley but I don’t know if the same can be said about me so I’m going to work hard to be a better man for her.

Dad Said

Thanks for the post, Arthur Lawrence

My dad always warned me that women weren’t supposed to live alone but since I was an independent female, I always just brushed him off. When my next door neighbor had her house broken into, though, I got really scared since I do live alone and don’t have much to protect me other than a flimsy deadbolt. I immediately started researching prices at http://www.securitychoice.com/adt-wireless-home-security-system.html and figured out a way to make the locks on my doors a lot stronger. I figured this was as good a time as any to get that dog I’d been wanting and Roxie and I have been training for what to do if someone were to break in! I think I’m way more protected than I was before. If I had my way, I’d live alone forever but I know that’s only going to be a possibility for a little while, at least if my dad has anything to do with it. He wants me to let my sister move into the spare bedroom to help get my mortgage down!

Family Biz

Family Biz

Guest written by our friend Gladys Fuentes

Our restaurant is a family business and has been run by us for generations now. My grandparents are full-blooded Italian, and they didn't put much business thought into this place since all they wanted to do was open a restaurant that serves delicious food. Now that I'm involved, we still serve delicious foods, but I wanted to bring the business to this century when it came to all the backend. The first issue was that we didn't accept credit cards, which was totally outdated, so I looked into credit card proessing options and found one that was right for us. Another problem was that our staffing was totally outdated, so I bought us a computer program that now keeps track of hours and the ordering process. Payroll has also been simplified greatly just by using this system. I'm now managing the back of house full-time and I think everyone can tell the difference and how professionally the restaurant is running. If they don't now, they will in a couple of years when we avoid some major hassles!
